Steffanie and Michael are living a nomadic lifestyle in an RV full time. Documenting their journey through this blog will be a way for them to have something to look back on and share with family and friends. They have already started to get lots of questions about this lifestyle and hope to have answers to everything they have been asked. If something is not covered or you’d like to get in touch please use the contact form.
Steffanie grew up in a small town outside of Peoria, Illinois. She is a free thinker and always up for new experiences. She loves animals, photography, and all things creative. Her creative gifts carry through to her career as a graphic designer. Steffanie has always had a passion for travel. As a child, her summer plans included family vacations around the midwest. Her love of travel was really cemented in college when she studied abroad for a summer semester in Florence, Italy.
Mike grew up in the Chicago suburbs. A Chicagoan through and through, he’s passionate about his hometown sports teams, and considers himself a Chicago Style Hot Dog aficionado. He is a web developer and designer and enjoys problem solving challenges in both design and programming. Mike has always enjoyed traveling and fondly remembers yearly family trips to Minnesota as well as several trips to Ireland.
Mike and Steffanie met in a screen printing class at Western Illinois University where they attended college. They didn’t date at the time but casually keep in touch, reconnecting a year or so later. At this point, Steffanie had graduated and moved to St. Louis. They dated long distance for a while, traveling on the weekends to see each other. In 2009, Mike had finally graduated from WIU and made the decision to move to St. Louis to be with Steffanie. The two have now lived in St. Louis together for 6+ years with their two cats, Buddy and Babe. Their best memories have always revolved around the numerous trips they have taken together. The first trip they took as a couple was a road trip West that included stops in Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. In 2014, they continued their fond travel memories with a trip to Jamaica with 30 of their closest friends and family to tie the knot. Throughout the years, they have made many trips to the Peoria and Chicago areas to visit family. It was on one of these such trips that a crazy idea to travel the country in an RV was born.
