We stayed at Cinderella Motel & Campground located on Grand Island, New York from July 24th to the 31st. There are a handful of things to do on Grand Island, but the reason we chose this location was to visit Niagara Falls. This campground is only 15 minutes from Niagara Falls, and 20 minutes from Buffalo. There are tolls to get onto the island from either direction. As the name suggests, there is a motel on the property, but we did not have an opportunity to see any of those rooms. The campground portion accommodates tent camping and RVs. The RV spaces have full hookups (water/electric/sewer) and cable. It seemed as though WiFi may have been available near the office, but we were not able to connect to it up from our spot.
Unfortunately, we arrived late in the day after our very long drive from western Michigan. We had called ahead and asked the office for our parking assignment. Arriving after dark made it very difficult to find the spot. We also found that someone had parked across from it, making it impossible to back in. We called the campground number, and thankfully they picked up. They allowed us to just park along the roadway overnight so we could try to get set up in the morning.
Early the next day, we connected with the women in the office. They were friendly and accommodating. With a number of people leaving that morning we were able to pick a new spot that was easier to get into than our original assignment. The gravel spot was fairly level, but the sewer hookups were slightly uphill from the spot. There was also enough room to park our truck right in front of the trailer.
The grounds were fairly well kept and campers have access to restrooms, showers, and laundry. The laundry was just inside the doors to the restrooms/showers. There was just one set of washer and dryer per mens/womens rooms. That made it slightly complicated when we did our laundry because we had to pass the detergent, etc. back and forth as we worked on it.
Even with most RV spots full and a busy motel, the campground was quiet. We didn’t even notice noise from the nearby road. It was ideal for us since we still work during the week, and there was very little distraction. This is a great campground to have access to Niagara Falls at a reasonable price. For families looking for campgrounds with activities, this is not it. We would recommend this campground to anyone looking to explore Niagara or Buffalo, NY.
