Back in January, we went to the St. Louis RV and Travel Show. This was our third time going to the the show so we already had an idea of what we wanted, but it’s always fun to go and see what is out there and gather more information. Mostly, we wanted to make sure that a truck pulling a travel trailer was the best option for us. This year, Miranda came along with us. She has similar plans to travel full-time in an RV. You can read about her plans here.
Last year at the show, we found the Forest River Rockwood Windjammer 3008W and fell in love with its floor plan and ample storage. We love that is has a V front, which is more aerodynamic and a more efficient use of space. The kitchen is in the front, dividing the open space into “rooms” that makes it feel like a home to us. One of my favorite features is the slide out in the bedroom that allows room for a large (for an RV) wardrobe! A lot of the travel trailers don’t have much clothing storage or storage in general, which is ok for a short trip, but let’s be honest, it is very important for two people living together in it for a whole year.
When we are ready to buy our new home, we will look for a used model of Windjammer (so much fun to say!) or a Forest River V-Cross which has an almost identical layout. But, first we have to sell our house, which means getting rid of “stuff.” More on that in our next post.
